ah, beloved one

Ah, Beloved One,

How I yearned for you!

How I groped in the dark,

in such foolish ways,

not even realising

that it was you I was searching for.

And now that I am spent,

I give thanks for my fellow pilgrims

who walked beside me

even as I was pushing them away.

I give thanks for those

who found their way to truth

and spoke of you,

that my doubts were kept at bay.

And I give thanks for the beauty:

the beauty of the dew drops

and the gossamer

catching the light

of a new dawn.

Ah, Beloved One,

You know the rest,

Which cannot be said.
